EU to host summit dedicated to abducted Ukrainian children

On 11 February, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos announced that the European Union, together with Ukraine and Canada, is preparing the first summit dedicated to the return of Ukrainian children to their homeland.

This initiative backs the efforts of the Council of Europe to set up a Special Tribunal to hold those responsible accountable.

“Russia has kidnapped tens of thousands of Ukrainian children,” Marta Kos posted on X. “They are forced to deny their culture and identity.”

From the Ukrainian side, the initiative is supported by ‘Bring Kids Back UA’, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s project to bring home Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.
