Youth councils unite in Moldova to strengthen cross-border partnerships

From 22-28 June, the village of Burcuta, Moldova, welcomed young changemakers from the Eastern Partnership (EaP) region and Denmark for EVOLVE – an international seminar focused on strengthening cross-border cooperation among youth organisations.

Organised by the Danish Youth Council (DUF) together with the National Youth Council of Moldova and supported by the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, the week-long seminar brought together youth leaders from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Denmark. The event aimed to equip participants with tools, knowledge, and networks to build sustainable partnerships and develop impactful youth initiatives.

The seminar covered the full project cycle — from ideation and partnership building to proposal writing and implementation. Special sessions highlighted funding opportunities available through DUF’s International Pool and the New Democracy Fund (NDF). By the end of the seminar, they left with concrete ideas, projects, and initiatives to deepen regional partnerships among national youth councils and youth NGOs.

The seminar was organised by the Danish Youth Council, and the National Youth Council of Moldova, in partnership with the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project. It is co-funded by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ.
