Moldova hosts oina match as part of European Sports Week

The Republic of Moldova is hosting European Sports Week from 23 to 30 September.

On 24 September, Moldova hosted the Supercup in the game of oina, an old Moldovan bat-and-ball game. The national oine team and the champion team ‘Speranța’ from the village of Grozești, Nisporeni district, took part in the cup.

Representatives of EU member states’ embassies and staff from Moldovan state institutions then played a friendly game of oine.

During the event, guests also visited a handicraft fair and heard a folklore group performance.
