Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, will visit the Republic of Moldova from 4 to 6 June.
“We are coming to review progress in the Republic of Moldova’s accession process, open up new investment opportunities, engage in dialogue with young mayors, pay tribute to the country’s traditions, and bring the Republic of Moldova together through dialogue with the opposition and critical voices,” Marta Kos said ahead of the visit.
On 4 June, Commissioner Kos will open the high-level EU–Republic of Moldova Investment Conference, dedicated to economic opportunities and the EU’s Growth Plan for Moldova, a tool for mobilising investment, supporting the economy and modernising the country. Marta Kos will also meet the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
On 5 June, the Commissioner will take part in the opening of the Moldova Digital Summit 2026. This event is dedicated to the digital transformation and integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European technological space. Later, the Commissioner will hold discussions with mayors from various regions of the country.
On 6 June, the Commissioner will conclude her visit with several trips outside Chişinău, including to the Monastery of Martha and Mary and a farm in the village of Slobozia-Duşca, where she will discuss traditions, rural development and the Republic of Moldova’s European path with representatives of local communities.
