YEAs in Azerbaijan: Women’s role in leadership and peacebuilding


Diplomacy Club of the YEAs network organised “Woman in Peace Building” event on March 30. The goal of the event was to promote the importance of women in negotiations, mediation and leadership to young people and the public through diplomats who are already working in this field and are real examples for the audience, and discuss the importance of woman participation in negotiation table during the conflicts. Deputy Missions of EU Member States (Latvia, Germany, Belgium) and heads of UN and UNHCR participated in the discussion on how women’s leadership can influence peacebuilding in the context of conflict negotiations, particularly in the case of Ukraine. As a result the event reached more than 1,969 people online via Instagram takeover and 30.000 from blogger post. Also, 16 YEAs and 21 other young people participated in the event.
