YEAs in Azerbaijan: Act for the Planet- Waste to Art workshop in Sumgayit

On 29 March, the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in Azerbaijan organised a creative awareness event at the YEAs Office in Sumgayit to mark the International Day of Zero Waste. The activity combined environmental education with artistic expression, encouraging young people to rethink waste as a resource and adopt sustainable practices.

The programme began with a discussion on responsible waste management, followed by a presentation highlighting global examples and EU approaches to sustainability. The session concluded with a hands-on workshop where participants transformed discarded materials into creative artworks, fostering practical engagement with environmental responsibility.

Results Achieved:

• Raised environmental awareness: Increased understanding of sustainable waste management and responsible consumption.
• Encouraged creativity: Demonstrated practical ways to reuse and repurpose waste materials through interactive activities.
