Ukraine’s accession to EU: grants up to €85,000 for expert and analytical work on Fundamentals cluster


The 3E4U programme, supported by the EU and Germany, has launched a new grant competition for Ukrainian civil society organisations working in the fields of European integration and rule of law reforms.

The programme will fund four projects within the ‘Fundamentals’ cluster of Ukraine’s accession to the EU. Two of the selected projects will focus on Section 23 ‘Judiciary and Fundamental Rights’, and the other two on Section 24 ‘Justice, Freedom and Security’.

Project proposals should primarily focus on expert and analytical work that would contribute to supporting Ukraine’s progress towards the EU in the above-mentioned areas.

Each project is eligible for funding of up to €85,000.

Applicants should be registered as non-governmental organisations in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and have proven experience in the areas of the Judiciary, Human Rights, Law Enforcement (depends on project proposal’s area).

The deadline for applications is 15 June.

On behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office and the European Union, the 3E4U programme supports the government of Ukraine in its efforts to align Ukrainian legislation with the EU acquis, covered by the Fundamentals Cluster, with particular focus on Chapters Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (Chapter 23) and Justice, Freedom and Security (Chapter 24).
