Take part in Europe Day 2025 in Moldova: ‘Peace, Prosperity, Dignity – Europe is you!’

This May, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, together with the Embassies of the EU Member States, marks Europe Day 2025 in several regions of Moldova. The topic of this year is ‘Peace, Prosperity, Dignity – Europe is you!’.

This year, Europe Day marks the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration (9 May 1950), which laid the foundations for the European Union. It also marks the fundamental values that have underpinned the formation and development of the European Union.

Europe Day 2025 will highlight the continued support of the European Union and its Member States to Moldova. There will be a special focus on the cultural heritage of the Republic of Moldova.

In Chisnau, the European Village will be organised on 9 May in the Great National Assembly Square. Nineteen EU Member States will share their cultural and culinary traditions. Fifty-six EU-funded projects providing assistance in various fields such as rural, economic and social development will present their activities. In the evening, the public can enjoy a concert featuring Vali Boghean, Marej, Vopli Vidopliassova (Ukraine), Zdob și Zdub and LUPII lui Calancea, together with GUZ and the Osoianu Sisters.

On 17 May, the European village will be held in the centre of Căușeni, culminating with a concert by Pașa Parfeni and Zdob și Zdub.

European cuisine will be featured in the European Village in both towns, which will also host a range of cultural and interactive activities for all ages.

Events dedicated to Europe Day 2025 will also be organised in Cahul, Ungheni and other localities, in cooperation with EU-funded projects, local public authorities, the network of Euroclubs and European Information Centres across the country.

Moreover, the European Film and Culture Festival will take place in several localities of Moldova, including villages and towns, between 9 and 31 May. Entrance is free.
