
The EU Delegation to Moldova invites students and young professionals in education, law, IT, communication, journalism, or engineering to take part in the DeepFake Hackathon 2026 to develop solutions to combat misinformation.
The Hackathon will take place on 23-25 April, at the Inotek Centre in Cahul.
Teams of 3-5 people will work over three days to build functional prototypes that detect and combat online misinformation.
The participants will be assisted by mentors specialising in IT, Artificial Intelligence, media, fact-checking, and digital ethics.
Three winning teams will receive prizes: 1st place – 14,000 MDL; 2nd place – 10,000 MDL, and 3rd Place – 6,000 MDL.
Participation is free, participants from the region will be provided with accommodation.
The deadline for registration is 17 April.
This event is organised with the financial support of the European Union, co-financed by Norway, and implemented by the Inotek Centre, in partnership with the B.P. Hasdeu University Centre in Cahul and news portal ziuadeazi.md.
