House of Europe invites Ukrainian filmmakers for ‘MIDPOINT Intensive’ workshop

The EU-funded ‘House of Europe’ NGO in Ukraine, together with the international training and networking organisation, the MIDPOINT Institute, production company Balcony 48, and the Ukrainian State Film Agency, has launched a call for the second MIDPOINT Intensive workshop in Ukraine.

The course will take place from 4 to 9 June in Lviv Culture Hub, Lviv (Ukraine).

Over four days in Lviv, creative teams of producers, directors, and scriptwriters will polish their scenario, working on structure, rhythm, tone, hero arcs, dialogues, and subtext. They will also tailor the film financial plan, budget, and development plan to meet the challenges of working under limited state funding in Ukraine.

The course is free of charge. The organisers will also cover participants’ stay and partly meals.

The working language is English (without translation).

To be eligible to apply, the applicants should build a team of a producer, a director and a scriptwriter (teams without a director can still apply). Everyone in the team should be working on their first or second feature fiction film project. The director or scriptwriter must permanently reside in Ukraine.

The deadline for applications is 19 April.
