EU4Youth in Ukraine: Girls Empowerment Academy 1.0 looking for participants


The Ukrainian ‘Women’s League’ NGO, with the support of the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, is launching the ‘Girls Empowerment Academy 1.0 / Академія розширення можливостей для дівчат 1.0’ project.

‘Girls Empowerment Academy 1.0 ’is a chance for 14-17-year-old Ukrainian girls to learn how to influence decision-making in their community, settlement, or even at the national level. Participants will develop skills in leadership, project management, public speaking, social media, and in implementing their ideas.

The academy starts on 25 January and runs until the end of June.

What are the key components of the project?

  • Two-day study visit to Lviv for all project participants (50 girls);
  • Two-day study visit to Kyiv for the most diligent project graduates (20 girls);
  • 8 informational online meetings with invited experts;
  • 8 networking online meetings for getting to know each other and team building;
  • Creative tasks between meetings and online testing to consolidate knowledge of each meeting topic;
  • Support and development community in Telegram;
  • Certificate confirming successful graduation from the project;
  • Competition of initiative ideas, five of which will receive mentoring, organisational and financial support from the NGO ‘Women’s League’ to be implemented;
  • Many additional opportunities and amenities from the NGO ‘Women’s League’.
