EU Anti-Corruption initiative in Ukraine launches online course on academic Integrity

The public organisation ‘Ukrainian community for freedom and rights’, with the support of the European Union Anti-Corruption initiative for Ukraine (EUACI) and in partnership with the Ukrainian Catholic University, has developed a lecture series entitled ‘Academic Integrity: fundamentals and practice’.

The course was developed in connection with the Verkhovna Rada’s adoption last December of the Law ‘On Academic Integrity’. This is the first framework document in Ukraine’s history to establish uniform rules for all participants in the educational process, from students to researchers. The law has already entered into force, but most of its provisions will take full effect on July 31, 2026.

The course consists of five lectures:

  • Honesty through the centuries: religion, philosophy, history.
  • Regulatory Framework: University documents and documents from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
  • Main types of academic misconduct, procedures, communication, and accountability.
  • Academic integrity and self-integrity.
  • Digital integrity and working with AI.

The course is available at the following link.

The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) is the European Union’s anti-corruption support programme in Ukraine funded by the EU, and co-funded and implemented by the Danish Foreign Ministry. The programme was launched in 2017 as a collaborative effort to combat corruption in Ukraine.
