The EU Delegation to Moldova invites civil society representatives with at least two years of experience and in-depth knowledge of social issues and vulnerable groups in Moldova to take part in the SIMR 2025 Mediathon. The event will take place from 27 February to 1 March, in Chisinau.
The SIMR 2025 Mediathon aims to encourage the production of collaborative investigative journalistic content. It is organised as part of the EU-funded project ‘Supporting independent media and publishing quality content in Moldova’ project, implemented by IREX Europe (ERIM), in partnership with the media project ‘Cu Sens’.
The competition is open to experts and representatives of civil society from Chisinau and the regions (both representatives of organisations and individual civic activists) – specialists who understand local problems and who want to make the topic meaningful by working with a journalist. Political or religious organisations are not eligible to apply.
Teams will consist of three journalists and one civil society representative. Projects will include a package of at least five journalistic products (e.g. article, video/animation, podcast, vox populi, broadcast, etc.).
Ideas developed at the Mediathon will be able to apply for financial support of up to €5,000 for implementation.
The deadline for applications is 15 January.
