Young people from Moldova to participate in European Youth Year together with their peers from the EU

The Republic of Moldova will join other European countries in taking part in events for the European Year of Youth, EU ambassador to Moldova Janis Mažeiks has announced.

On his initiative, backed by the heads of the EU member states’ diplomatic missions, the Moldovan Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, many opportunities are opening up for the country’s youth.

The European Year of Youth offers a unique opportunity to undertake an internship in one of the EU institutions  or to become a Young European Ambassador (YEA). Throughout 2022, young people from Moldova will take part in Erasmus+, EU4Youth, and EaP Civil Society Facility projects, funded by the European Union, and several flagship initiatives, launched by the European Commission.

For example, ALMA is a new programme designed to help young people without a job or education to integrate into the labour market. ALMA combines education, training and job placement for young people in their home country with opportunities for further training in EU countries.

The European Year of Youth will also include the new NextGenerationEU initiative. It will open up new perspectives for young people, including quality work, education and training opportunities. At the same time, NextGenerationEU will stimulate the participation of young people in society.

All useful information about the year of youth will be published on a special page on the website EU4Moldova.
