Young European Ambassadors in Armenia open ArmKodak exhibition showcasing ethnic minority groups

On 25 October, as part of the European Heritage Days 2025, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in Armenia hosted an exhibition showcasing ethnic minority groups in Armenia.

The photos presented at the exhibition were taken as part of the Armkodak initiative. ‘ARMKODAK’, a photo reportage, was organised by YEAs in Armenia from May to July 2025, with the support of the EVZ Foundation. The initiative aimed to highlight the culture, traditions, and everyday life of Indian, Yezidi, Assyrian, Greek, and Molokan communities in the country. More broadly, the exhibition aims to highlight the multiculturalism of Armenia, which forms an integral part of its European identity. You can learn more about the project and view photos at our dedicated page in English, Armenian, and Russian.

Around 80 people participated in the event hosted by the Komitas Museum-Institute in Yerevan. Assyrian, Greek, and Yazidi groups showcased their traditional dances, songs, and musical instruments during the programme.

The EU Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos highlighted the importance of the chosen topic, and said that “majorities become richer when they learn about minorities”.

The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
