Ukraine: EU4Youth supports capacity-building training for CSOs in Ternopil

On 29-31 May, a national capacity-building training was held in Ternopil, Ukraine, for representatives of youth civil society organisations (CSOs) from across the country. The event aimed to strengthen participants’ skills and knowledge for working with young people during wartime and in the post-war context.

The three-day training combined expert inputs, practical exercises, and group work, covering a wide range of topics relevant to youth work and civic engagement in challenging times.

Special attention was paid to organisational development, responsible leadership, and basic project management skills. The training also included sessions on challenges and opportunities for youth initiatives in wartime and post-war settings, featuring real-life cases and collective problem-solving. A practical session on internal and external communication strategies helped participants deepen their understanding of the role of strategic communication in project implementation.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and Ternopil Regional State Administration with the support of the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by GIZ.
