Ukraine Energy Support Fund receives first donation

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund, set up by the European Commission and the Energy Community, has received the first donation from the Government of Denmark.

The donation will be used to purchase much needed emergency energy equipment, fuels for electricity production and heating, and to provide other types of support.

Ukraine’s energy sector is badly affected by the war and they have asked for our help,” said the Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities of Denmark, Dan Jørgensen. He added that the fund ensures that Ukraine receives equipment that actually fits into its energy system. He also announced that Denmark will send money and encourage other countries to contribute as well.

The Secretariat together with the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine will work at speed to ensure that all donations disbursed are channeled to address the most urgent needs of the Ukrainian energy sector,” the Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, Artur Lorkowski, said.
