Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Armenia and the European Union will carry out a series of activities across the regions of Armenia from 11-16 April, highlighting the message of ‘More EU in Armenia’ through visits to universities, NGOs, EuroClubs, and EU-funded initiatives.
A group of 50 Young European Ambassadors from Armenia will be joined by six Young European Ambassadors from Spain, Greece, Germany, Sweden and the UK, fostering cross-border dialogue and exchange between young people from the EU Member States and Armenia.
The series of events aims to ensure that young people across Armenia better understand EU-Armenia relations, with developments such as the EU-Armenia Strategic Agenda and the launch of the visa liberalisation dialogue, and engage with the opportunities arising from EU-Armenia cooperation.
Through university visits, community engagements, cultural activities, and peer-to-peer exchanges, YEAs will create spaces for dialogue, experience-sharing, and mutual learning.
Aside from events in the capital Yerevan, the week’s activities will include visits to Yeghegnadzor, Goris, and Aparan, ensuring outreach beyond the capital and engagement with regional communities.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative is a non-political, voluntary, communication network connecting young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the EU Member States and the United Kingdom. The aim of the network is to raise awareness about the EU’s cooperation with its Eastern partner countries, showcase the tangible results of this cooperation, contribute to policy dialogue, increase civic activism, and work together for a better future. The YEAs initiative was created by the European Union in 2016 and has so far involved more than 2,500 young people from over 30 different countries.
