Expert roundtable held in Yerevan to mark launch of EU Partnership Mission in Armenia

On 13 July, the European Union Partnership Mission in Armenia (EUPM Armenia) jointly with the Armenian Foreign Ministry organised a roundtable event timed to coincide with the adoption of the EU decision on the launch of EUPM Armenia

The mission will support Armenia’s capacity to address hybrid challenges, including cyber threats, foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) and illicit financial flows. Specifically, the mission will provide strategic advice, technical expertise and institutional capacity building to various national institutions in Armenia to address such threats, and will support a horizontal, whole-of-government approach.

The event in Yerevan was hosted by Civilian Operations Commander and Managing Director of the EEAS, Stefano Tomat, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Vahan Kostanyan, together with Vassilis Maragos, Ambassador of the European Union to Armenia and Cosmin Dinescu, Head of EUPM Armenia.

The roundtable brought together representatives from civil society, academia and policy experts. The event provided the opportunity for an exchange of views on the topic of strengthening Armenia’s resilience against evolving threats such as cyber threats, foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) and illicit financial flows.

The European Union Partnership Mission in Armenia (EUPM Armenia) is a civilian advisory mission under the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) at the request of the Armenian government. The Mission was established on 21 April 2026 and launched on 13 July 2026.
