An essay by 17-year-old Srap Gevorgyan from Gyumri was selected as the winning entry in the EU Delegation to Armenia ‘A Day with the EU Ambassador’ initiative. Srap is a member of the Youth Advisory Council.
In his essay on EU-Armenia relations and the role of young people in shaping this partnership, Srap Gevorgyan calls on Armenian youth to become more proactive in bringing the European Union closer to Armenia.
“From the historic cobblestones of regional cultural centres to the dynamic collaborative spaces where young minds gather, the new narrative is being forged. We are the generation that is fluent in universal languages of innovation and human dignity, uniquely positioned to translate the European ideals into organic localised realities that will merge into new branch,” reads the essay.
“Investing in the creative autonomy of the next generation, the European Union does not merely support a developing partner, but it aligns itself with an essential force which is capable of redefining democratic vitality at the crossroads of Europe and Asia,” the author says. “As young leaders, our mission is to ensure this relationship remains a living, breathing dialogue, composed with the precision of innovation, the warmth of mutual respect, and an unwavering commitment to a free, harmonious future.”
The winning essay earned Srap an opportunity to spend a full day alongside the EU Ambassador to Armenia, Vassilis Maragos, participating in meetings and events both inside and outside the EU Delegation.
