EU project on law enforcement and security reforms concludes in Armenia

An EU-funded project on ‘Supporting Law Enforcement and Security Reforms in Armenia’ successfully concluded last week after two years of intensive co-operation and attracting quality expert support from EU member states.

The project, launched in September 2023, aimed to ensure that the newly established Ministry of the Internal Affairs in Armenia operates properly, implements police reforms, modernises the state border management services and migration flows, and that public confidence in the Ministry’s policies grows.

The project was implemented by the Central Public Management Agency (CPMA) in cooperation with the Latvian State Police. It was funded by the EU with a contribution of €2 million, and co-financed by Lithuanian Fund for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid with a contribution of more than €222,200.

“The EU is committed to further assist the Armenian authorities in law enforcement and security reforms and to explore opportunities for cooperation in the context of the Visa Liberalisation Dialogue,” the EU Delegation to Armenia said in a Facebook post.
