The United Nations Development Programme in Georgia (UNDP Georgia) announced on Thursday that it had set up pop-up vet clinics in the Racha highlands, Georgia, together with the European Union in Georgia and Mayhew Georgia, a Georgian team of veterinarians.
The vet clinics deliver vaccination and essential health services to over 200 stray dogs.
“Sustainable dog care means less disease, less suffering, and safer communities for all, people and dogs alike,” UNDP Georgia said in a Facebook post. “True friends deserve real care. Always.”

This initiative is part of the EU-funded project ‘EU for Integrated Territorial Development’(EU4ITD). The project supports more balanced territorial development and improvement of the population’s living standards through an enhanced governance system in four target regions – Guria, Imereti, Kakheti and Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
