Kanan is currently working towards a Bachelor of Law at Bakı Dövlət Universiteti (Baku State University). Following graduation, he is planning to become one of the top attorneys in his country with a view to contributing to legal reforms implemented with the assistance of the European Union. To this end, Kanan has been practising law in a variety of state bodies and private firms. Besides being a prospective lawyer, Kanan is also keen on debating. He actively participates in tournaments, Model UN conferences and Moot Courts. One of them is the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition – the largest of its kind.
