The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with financial support from the European Union, Sweden and the United Kingdom, has announced a call for proposals for grant funding aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the left bank of the Dniester River.
At least 21 businesses will receive development support in the form of equipment, goods, works and services; energy efficiency solutions, and technical assistance and mentoring and support.
The competition comprises two lots:
• Lot 1 — intended for existing companies that have previously received support under projects implemented by UNDP. Under the ‘Confidence-Building Measures’ programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, each company will receive assistance worth up to US$35,000 in the form of goods and services necessary for development and improving operational efficiency.
• Lot 2 — is intended for enterprises led by women and for companies focused on innovation, technological modernisation, productivity improvement and exports. Following the competition, at least 15 businesses will be supported. Each company will receive support worth up to US$15,000 in the form of goods and services as part of the UNDP project ‘Developing Export Potential on the Banks of the Dniester’ (AdTrade), funded by Sweden and the UK.
Selected enterprises will receive support to enhance their competitiveness through investments in energy efficiency and cost reduction; renewable energy solutions; the circular economy, and modernisation of production processes and business models.
