Apply to join Danube Youth Council in 2026/2027 – open to youth from Moldova and Ukraine



The Danube Youth Council (DYC), co-funded by the European Union, is looking for new members for its next mandate year 2026/2027.

The DYC was established in October 2022, as a structure for the institutional involvement of young people in all EUSDR (The EU Strategy for the Danube Region) bodies to make the ideas and viewpoints of young people heard and considered on a political level. 

The DYC is composed of 28 members (aged 18-29), two members from each of the 14 Danube Region countries (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Hungary, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine). The members of the Youth Council may propose concrete actions and projects; and suggest topics; bring ideas to the attention of high-level politicians from EUSDR states and regions, and contribute to the EUSDR priorities and policies.

The call is open to young people aged 18-30 (this applies for the whole duration of the one-year mandate. The applicant should be a permanent resident of one of the 14 participating states/regions of the Danube Region Strategy, including Moldova and Ukraine. 


In the case of Ukraine, only residents originating from the following four regions are eligible: Chernivetska Oblast, Ivano-Frankivska Oblast, Zakarpatska Oblast, and Odeska Oblast. Ukrainian applicants from these four Oblasts are eligible regardless of their current location.

The candidate should have a good understanding of English and be ready to commit for one year to the Danube Youth Council (to spend at least one hour per week on his/her DYC activities).
