The EU-funded ‘Young European Heritage Makers Competition’ invites young participants from 12 European countries, including Armenia and Ukraine, to explore their heritage and share their creative interpretations of this year’s theme: heritage of routes, networks, and connections.
This competition, organised by the EU-funded Creative Europe programme and the Council of Europe, aims to engage youth in Europe’s rich cultural history, encouraging them to share their findings with a wider audience.
Whether looking at historical trade routes, cultural exchanges, or modern-day digital networks, this year’s theme encourages participants to reflect on how interconnected Europe’s heritage truly is.
Entries can be submitted in two age categories: 6-11 years and 11-17 years. Projects can be presented through a variety of creative forms, including short videos, photos, paintings, or written descriptions.
Nationally, the top five entries from each age category will receive special goodie bags and certificates. On the European stage, winners in the 11-17 years category will be invited to Strasbourg in 2024, where their work will be showcased in a special exhibition.
The deadline for applications is 31 December.
