The European Environment Agency (EEA) 2026 has launched a photo competition ‘Resilient by Nature’, which invites citizens across Europe to capture the many ways in which nature sustains life, responds to pressures and recovers in a changing world.
The competition encourages photography enthusiasts to explore the special relationship that modern societies have with nature. Participants can submit up to five photographs showcasing how ecosystems function, how they are disrupted, and how they are being restored.
This year’s edition features three categories that aims to present a comprehensive picture of nature’s resilience: Harmony, Disruption, and Renewal.
The competition is open to adults from EEA member and cooperating countries, including Moldova and Ukraine, and is free to enter.
Winners in each category will receive a cash prize, along with additional awards for public choice and youth prize.
The deadline for applications is 10 August.
