2025 Summer School for Journalists and Media Practitioners

The Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom (CMPF) of the European University Institute invites journalists and communication professionals to apply for the 13th edition of the CMPF Summer School for Journalists and Media Practitioners.

The school will take place from 23 to 27 June 2025, in Badia Fiesolana, Italy.

The participation fee is €200 but the organisers offer up to 29 different scholarships, available to participants from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. These scholarships cover travel expenses, accommodation, tuition fee, all course materials, etc.

The CMPF Summer School offers participants an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and discuss key issues shaping journalism and informed citizenship. The programme will feature presentations by distinguished experts, followed by interactive sessions designed to enhance participants’ understanding, engagement, and networking.

The participants will explore opportunities for innovation and strategies to level the playing field between technology companies and journalism, ensuring the economic sustainability of the profession, particularly for investigative journalism.

The deadline for applications is 4 May.
