The publication “Private Sector for Women’s Empowerment in Georgia” (UN Women, 2025) highlights the impactful collaboration between UN Women and Georgia’s private sector since 2016, grounded in the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). Showcasing progress up to the end of 2024, the report documents how WEPs signatory companies have reached over 71,000 women through initiatives promoting economic opportunity, professional development, and gender equality. Beyond internal reforms, the publication emphasizes how private sector actors extend support to broader communities—enhancing women’s access to finance, healthcare, and technology-driven sectors, while also challenging entrenched gender stereotypes. Real-life examples illustrate how businesses across Georgia have become catalysts for inclusive growth, innovation, and systemic change. The report was developed under the Women’s Economic Empowerment component of the UN Women project “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia,” with support from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). It serves as both a progress snapshot and an advocacy tool for scaling private sector engagement in gender equality.
