What Hinders Women’s Employment: Study Reveals a Key Factor

This article highlights findings from a study by Work.ua and Education.ua showing that limited access to kindergartens is a major barrier to women’s employment in Ukraine. One in five women cannot work due to the lack of childcare options. Overcrowded facilities, short operating hours, and lack of flexibility contribute to reduced labour market participation. The article calls for systemic solutions, including policy reforms and employer-supported childcare.
