This issue brief outlines the current landscape of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Georgia, focusing on the legal framework, institutional mechanisms, and available services. It draws on findings from the 2023 Country Gender Equality Profile and provides an overview of Georgia’s progress and remaining gaps in addressing VAWG, including domestic violence, sexual violence, and femicide. The document also highlights the national efforts aligned with the Women, Peace and Security agenda. It was developed under the UN Women project “Women’s Increased Leadership for Democracy,” supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
