Capitalising on the Women, Peace and Security agenda in the European Union accession process of the Republic of Moldova

This policy brief examines the role of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in supporting Moldova’s EU accession process. It highlights how gender equality and women’s participation contribute to meeting EU criteria related to democracy, rule of law, and human rights. The report emphasises the importance of integrating gender perspectives into security and defence policies and strengthening institutional capacities. It also identifies the need for enhanced cooperation between public institutions and civil society. The findings underline that effective implementation of the WPS Agenda can support both national security objectives and alignment with EU standards.
