On 7 February, the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, in partnership with the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs), conducted the 5th EU Youth Competition in Baku.
Over 130 teams and 520 individuals applied to take part in the competition. Out of the record number of applicants, the organisers selected 18 teams, consisting of 70 young people.
As a result of the competition, three teams were awarded: Gazalkhan, Axolotl, and Euconomist.

“The European Union has always supported young people in Azerbaijan in their efforts to build a brighter future. Through our events and joint activities, we learn from each other,” EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Marijana Kuyundžić said in her opening speech. “Young people play a key role in building bridges between our societies. Today’s competition is a great example of this.”
The winners received special prizes and certificates presented by Ambassador Kuyundzhi and representatives of the embassies of EU member states.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
