On 19 March, eight Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in Armenia met with Meglena Kuneva, former EU Commissioner, EU Ambassador to the Council of Europe, Chief Negotiator and Minister for Europe, and Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria.
During the discussion, Meglena Kuneva shared insights from her experience in European affairs, emphasising the importance of youth engagement in shaping the future of the EU and its partnerships. YEAs actively participated in the conversation, raising key questions on EU enlargement, democratic resilience, and opportunities for young leaders in the Eastern Partnership region.
YEAs also had the chance to interact with the EU Ambassador to Armenia, Vassilis Maragos, further deepening their understanding of EU-Armenia relations.
Reflecting on the meeting, one of the YEAs said: “Speaking with Ms. Kuneva was truly inspiring. Her experience in EU negotiations and diplomacy gave us a deeper understanding of how young people can contribute to a stronger, more united communication effort of the EU in EaP countries.”
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
