Social care: EU and UNDP hand over vehicles  to communities in Ukraine

The European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine have handed over five specialised vehicles to communities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv oblasts.

Three vehicles for social adaptation spaces will help people with disabilities, older adults, and other vulnerable people to reach social institutions, rehabilitation centres, and integration activities. They will also support the work of social workers, enabling them to deliver assistance to vulnerable groups during field visits.

Two palliative care vehicles are equipped with lifts, wheelchairs, and other assistive equipment. They will ensure comfortable transportation for patients to medical facilities, and will allow multidisciplinary teams to provide essential care at home, while maintaining the dignity and well-being of beneficiaries.

This initiative was implemented as part of the flagship ‘EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine’ partnership between UNDP and the EU.
