Shared success: EU investments in Ukrainian business and support on the path to integration

The EU continues to support Ukraine on all fronts. In the new episode of “The Recovery Diary”, we showcase mobile hospitals and how they save lives in frontline areas, EU countries’ assistance in rebuilding critical infrastructure, and Ukrainian businesses that have received EU support.

The Ukraine-EU Business Summit took place in Brussels. The event was jointly organised by the European Commission, the Government of Ukraine, the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, and Italy, which will host a major Ukraine Recovery Conference this summer.

At the summit, real success stories were presented featuring EU investments in Ukraine. Business representatives had the chance to speak directly with investors and participate in practical workshops. Panel discussions focused on global prerequisites for creating a transparent and competitive environment to attract investments. Chief among these is Ukraine’s progress toward EU membership and the reforms being implemented along the way. Ukraine’s recovery was seen as a strategic long-term investment – specifically in the industrial future and the security of the whole of Europe.

Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement, told the summit: Nobody right now is contributing more to European security than the Ukrainian armed forces. They are Ukraine’s security guarantee for the rest of Europe. And besides military support, the best thing we can do to support them is by helping Ukraine achieve economic strength and secure energy supplies.

The summit also launched a new EU–Ukraine Business Partnership. This is a strategic initiative aimed at deepening economic and investment ties, accelerating Ukraine’s recovery, and supporting its path to the EU and integration into the EU single market.

To see how the EU is helping Ukrainian businesses survive, modernise, grow, and create new jobs, watch the latest episode of The Recovery Diary.
