Moldova: EU to finance fruit and vegetable Agri-Hub in Căușeni

The European Union is supporting producers and farmers in the  Căușeni district of Moldova, with the launch today of the ‘Agri-Hub Căușeni: Community infrastructure for fruit and vegetable refrigeration and processing’ project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Căușeni City Hall.

The project envisages the construction of an Agri-Hub, which will be based on modern energy efficient technologies. The hub will be equipped with cleaning units, equipment for fruit and vegetable refrigeration and processing, and a line for product packaging.

The total project budget is €660,000. These funds will help support small and medium-sized enterprises, create jobs and jump-start economic growth in the district.

The project is part of the ‘Mayors for Economic Growth’ initiative, funded by the European Union to support mayors and cities in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries, including Moldova.
