Organised crime and electoral resilience: regional forum brings together law enforcement officials from Moldova, Ukraine and EU Member States

Law enforcement officials from the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania met on 1 July in Chisinau for a forum on ‘Organised crime and electoral resilience: challenges and countermeasures’. The event was supported by the European Union and UNDP Moldova.

The forum reaffirmed the need to strengthen international cooperation through the rapid exchange of information and coordinated investigations.

“We need institutions that communicate quickly, data-driven investigations, and close cooperation between law enforcement agencies and international partners. This workshop is valuable precisely because it brings together different operational experiences but shares common goals,” said Diana Salcuțan, State Secretary of Moldova’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The event contributed to the development of law enforcement officials professional competencies, deepened their knowledge of methods for combating organised and cross-border crime, and strengthened professional networks among participating agencies.
