Moldova: Chisinau joins European Mobility Week
From 16 to 22 September, the Moldovan capital Chisinau joined the European Mobility Week.
The programme in Chisinau included interactive activities and thematic competitions, presentation of alternative means of transport, sports competitions, tests in bicycle and scooter driving, and presentations by urban mobility experts. In parallel, public lessons on road safety were organised with the participation of groups of pupils from schools in the capital.
The lessons were held in an interactive format, in two buses that travelled through the central streets of the capital. The bus tour ended with a visit to the Chisinau Museum of Electric Transport.
The capital’s participation was supported by the EU-funded ‘MOVE IT like Lublin’ project, an initiative for the sustainable development of public transport in Chisinau municipality.
