On 27 February, with the support of the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, the Kvareli EuroClub hosted an exchange meeting between EU Ambassador to Georgia Pawel Herczynski and young people from the Kakheti region.
The event brought together around 80 youth representatives from various municipalities, including Lagodekhi, Akhmeta, and Kvareli, providing them with a platform to engage in discussions on Georgia’s European integration and future prospects.
Ambassador Herczynski told young people about the EU’s strong commitment to Georgia’s youth, its civil civil society, and the EU’s continued efforts to strengthen democratic engagement.
Youth leaders and representatives from local youth organisations raised questions on civil society development in Georgia, shared their perspectives on the impact of EU-funded youth programmes, and highlighted the need for greater EU support for ethnic and religious minority youth to ensure their full inclusion in local communities.
The event was organised by the EU Delegation to Georgia, Kvareli EuroClub, and the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
