Georgia: civil society promotes vaccination in Kvemo Kartli region

On 18 November, the non-governmental policy watchdog and think tank ‘Georgia’s Reforms Associates’ (GRASS) started a vaccination campaign in Georgia as part of the ‘COVID-19: Civil Society Resilience and Sustainability’ project, funded by the EU. 

GRASS deployed mobile vaccination clinics in the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Georgian language speaking settlements in Dmanisi and Marneuli municipalities of the Kvemo Kartli region. As a result, 85 people have been vaccinated.

Before the vaccination, GRASS had trained ten representatives of local youth, informing them about the COVID-19 vaccination process and vaccine-related disinformation. The activists have conducted door-to-door canvassing to inform locals about the vaccination.

‘COVID-19: Civil Society Resilience and Sustainability’ is a 48-month project funded by the EU and supporting civil society in the Eastern Partnership countries to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
