Father’s Day in Georgia: UNFPA and EU present book for new fathers

On Father’s Day in Georgia, celebrated this year on 21 June, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) presented a book, The Birth of a Father: A Book for New Fathers.

The book was written by Alex Chighvinadze and Ana Janelidze and published by Palitra L, with EU support.

“Through honesty, humour and practical advice, the book encourages fathers-to-be to take an active role from the very beginning of the parenting journey,” UNFPA said in a Facebook post.

Father’s Day in Georgia has been celebrated in June since 2016, at the initiative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), within the MenCare campaign. This day highlights the important role fathers play in their children’s daily lives.

The Birth of a Father: A Book for New Fathers is available in the ‘Biblusi’ shops.
