EUWI+: Armenian government adopts EU-developed management plans for Sevan and Hrazdan river basins

On 8 December, the Armenian government adopted management plans for the Sevan and Hrazdan river basins.

Both plans were developed as a part of the EU Water Initiative+ project that helps Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to bring their legislation closer to EU water management policies, with a focus on managing transboundary river basins.

The EU Delegation to Armenia adds that a comprehensive management plan has been prepared for most of Armenia’s six river basin districts: Ararat, Southern, Akhuryan, Sevan, and Hrazdan.
