European Council to meet on 9-10 February in Brussels – Ukraine and Russia among priority topics

The European Council will meet on 9 and 10 February in Brussels for a summit to discuss Ukraine and Russia, the economy, and migration.

EU leaders will discuss recent developments with regards to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and continued EU support to Ukraine, which has already reached €50 billion.

This European Council meeting takes place after the 24th EU-Ukraine summit on 3 February. It was the first summit to take place following the outbreak of Russia’s war and since the EU granted candidate status to Ukraine in June 2022. The summit focused on Ukraine’s European integration and accession process, the EU’s response to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and global food security.
