EU Security HUB held in Chisinau

The European Union Support Hub for Internal Security and Border Management (EU Security HUB) took place in Chisinau on 18-19 September.

Co-organised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the European Commission, and the EU Partnership Mission to Moldova (EUPM), this Hub edition focused on countering foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI). It brought together officials and experts from the European Union and Moldova, civil society representatives, and investigative journalists specialising in FIMI.

They discussed comprehensive strategies to counter FIMI, exchanged insights, analysed best practices and addressed the challenges faced by EU Member States and Moldova in combating FIMI in an integrated way.

“One of the most serious threats facing Moldova today is foreign information manipulation and interference. FIMI not only endangers the integrity and sovereignty of our country, but also threatens the security of the entire region,” said Adrian Efros, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova.

The EU Support Hub for Internal Security and Border Management is an operational platform that facilitates cooperation on internal security and border management within the EU, between its agencies, Member States, and the Moldovan authorities.
