EU-funded ‘Resilient Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Region’ project summarises its results in Armenia

On 27 March, the ‘Resilient civil society in the Eastern Partnership region’ project, funded by the European Union, conducted a closing event in Yerevan to look back on the work accomplished in Armenia and to discuss new opportunities.

The project aimed to empower CSOs to become more effective protectors of civic space and drivers of democratisation, reform, and recovery processes in the Eastern Partnership region.

Over the last two years, the project supported ten civil society organisations, launching

19 grant sub-programmes, conducting seven capacity-building training sessions and three networking events, including the hosting of the Moldova Regional Coordination Centre in Armenia. The initiative also launched 15 mentoring support initiatives, and strengthened networking and the exchange of international experience. As a result, the programme engaged over 3,000 participants.

The project was funded by the Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST), co-financed by the Czech Foreign Ministry, and implemented by a Czech non-governmental organisation ‘People in Need’.
