EU and Armenia celebrate eighth anniversary of Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement

The Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia and the Embassy of Denmark commemorated the eighth anniversary of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

Signed in November 2017, this agreement aims to strengthen political dialogue, economic cooperation, and reforms.

Through CEPA, the European Union has supported Armenia in implementing reforms in the areas of justice, public administration, human rights and environmental protection, and has made progress in the areas of digital transformation, communications and sustainable economic development.

“Over the years, our collaboration has matured with the EU’s ongoing support for Armenia’s reform agenda, socio-economic resilience, economic diversification efforts, and initiatives to strengthen regional connectivity,” said the Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, EU Ambassador, Vassilis Maragos.

“The partnership between Armenia and the European Union is now reaching a new level of fulfilment, preserving the value-based foundation of CEPA while expanding its political and economic scope,” said Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan.

The CEPA entered into force on 1 March 2021.
