On 30 January, the European Union allocated €10 million to support Ukraine’s digital transformation and the development of digital services.
This funding will be used to improve the efficiency and transparency of public service provision, create cross-border digital services, develop digital infrastructure, and implement measures that bring Ukraine closer to EU standards.
“Even in the context of a full-scale war, Ukraine continues to develop a digital state and move towards digital European integration,” said Asier Santillán, Head of the European Integration, Governance and Rule of Law, Civil Society Section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine. “The European Union supports these efforts by investing in solutions that strengthen the resilience of institutions and help create fast, secure and modern public services for millions of Ukrainians.”
A new phase of support has been launched within the DT4UA project, implemented by the e-Governance Academy (eGA).
Oleksandr Bornyakov, Acting Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, said this cooperation had been a long-standing success story, which has laid the foundation for the country’s digital resilience.
“Together, we have implemented dozens of crucial projects: from establishing the Trembita data exchange system to launching convenient government services in Diia. Our priority today is not just digitalisation, but full synchronisation with the EU’s digital space,” Bornyakov said.
He added that the new funding would allow Ukraine to implement Trembita 2.0 (interoperability system for secure data exchange between state registries), adapt data management to European standards, and speed up Ukraine’s integration into EU Single Digital Market.
Since 2016, the total amount of EU support for EU-funded projects implemented by the e-Governance Academy alone has exceeded €60 million. Thanks to this funding, dozens of digital services have been launched or modernised.
