‘Did Lukashenko really want to avoid war?’ Watch the latest episode of YouTube series

The EU-supported project ‘What the propaganda is silent about’ has released a new video on YouTube, exposing the image of Belarusian dictator Lukashenko as a peacemaker.

The project is implemented by Zerkalo.io, an independent Belarusian media created by part of the former TUT.BY team, and Ukrainian 24 TV, in partnership with EU NEIGHBOURS east and EUvsDisinfo.

In the latest episode, we can learn how Lukashenko, who wanted to avoid war and offered Minsk as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine after 2014, ended up dragging Belarus into war. Journalists explain why calls for peace from a Belarusian dictator who has sided with the aggressor cannot be trusted.

The story is available in Russian with English subtitles.

The newly-launched YouTube channel ‘What the propaganda is silent about’ addresses Russian-speaking audiences with reliable information about the war in Ukraine, and aims to combat Kremlin propaganda and myths, which are actively promoted in Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, and the wider EaP region.
