Armenia: EU donates X-ray equipment to Goris Medical Centre

On 25 May, the EU Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin, visited the Goris Medical Centre as part of the Europe Day 2022 celebrations in the city.

The Ambassador took part in an equipment handover ceremony: modern X-ray equipment has been donated to the Goris Medical Centre as part of a wider package of EU assistance provided to intensify the fight against COVID-19 in Armenia. The new X-ray machines facilitate the monitoring of the patient’s condition and improve clinical decision-making.

Within the EU ‘Solidarity for Health’ project, the Goris Medical Center was among the beneficiary hospitals that received one ECG machine and three oxygen concentrators that have helped hundreds of patients recover from the severe diseases caused by COVID-19.

Andrea Victorin also visited the vaccination point in the Goris polyclinic where they met people aged over 65 who had received medical advice and vaccinations as part of the EU-funded ‘Vaccination is Care’ campaign.
